"When this black first came into the ring I noticed him.
Upon moving them round the ring again he caught my eye.
When he came out for individual examination I just prayed his head was going to be a good one
to match everything else about him that had made me already convinced that here was a real Lab.
It did. A really typical strongly made dog.
No mistaking him for a bitch, yet he isn’t overdone anywhere.
His expression is intelligent and soft. His head is well proportioned, his neck is moderately long.
Well angulated in front with correct bone and it goes right down to his tight feet.
Very strong through all his body properties, his topline is held both standing and on the move.
Tailset absolutely correct and his tail is well clothed too.
He isn’t the shortest of dogs but I had no problem with this as it enables him to really stride out.
His hocks are well let down and he uses them to advantage all of the time.
His quarters were extremely well muscled and his first and second thighs are wide and strong.
He was in beautiful coat, a credit to his owner.
He mustn’t carry any more weight as he certainly doesn’t need it.
It certainly was a pleasure to find a dog of this quality, especially as he was a completely new one to me.
I had to think long and hard in a class like this but he still shone and fully deserved his win and then the RCC.
Hope you come to Britain again.
You’ve got a good dog there."
